Fashion gets inspired from artist’s canvas this season, with bold brush strokes, abstract prints and watercolor flowers! The art-inspired trend was first spotted on the SS ‘14 runways of Chanel, when the Couture house quite famously transferred paint swatch motifs from canvas to dresses and brightened the runway with vibrant colors! Karl Lagerfeld’s collection inspired by paint splatters and impressionist marks had models resembling art palettes with space bobs, art portfolios and graffiti make-up that livened up the show!
And quite recently, Giambattista Valli, Nina Ricci, Christian Dior and Prabal Gurung also showcased some beautiful brush strokes, paint splodges and dripping stains in their 2015 Resort collection. We also noticed Lupita Nyong’o and Natalie Dormer in utterly stunning painterly print dresses at the glamorous red carpets of the 2015 SAG Awards!
While Lupita Nyong’o chose a stunning full-sleeve Elie Saab gown with black and white vertical stripes and red spliced splatter floral prints for the red carpet event, Natalie wowed in a one shoulder wonder from Naeem Khan!
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay actress Natalie Dormer donned a multi-color soft floral patterned Naeem Khan Spring 2015 gown. She paired her white one-shoulder gown with Kimberly McDonald jewels and looked like she walked right out of a painting with her ‘floral fantasy’ look. Her soft, natural make-up and crimped hair also added to the ethereal look. When Lupita‘s painterly print dress definitely brought a fun perspective to the red carpet of SAG 2015, Natalie’s floral prints definitely topped the charts during the 2015 SAG Awards!
